This is a lovely simple sampler quilt with a twist, it tells of a lovely story of a young slave girl who escaped slavery, but returned many times to free her friends and family. The name Harriet Tubman is very familiar to Americans: National Harriet Tubman Day is on the 13th march. There is no record of her having made a quilt,Mandy used traditional blocks with names that helped her tell Harriet's story via a quilt.
